In concerto, Tanguy de Williencourt performs alongside the Orchestre de Chambre de Paris, Orchestre National de Bordeaux Aquitaine, Flanders Symphony Orchestra, Sinfonia Varsovia, Ensemble Matheus… alongside conductors such as Kristiina Poska, Aziz Shokhakimov, Martijn Dendievel, Jean-Christophe Spinosi, Pascal Rophé, Marta Gardolińska…
As an assistant conductor, he collaborates xith Philippe Jordan, Michael Schønwandt, Simone Young, Gustavo Dudamel… (Paris Opera, Wiener Staatsoper, Bayreuth Festival).
His last solo album, released in 2024, an homage to Liszt and his Muses (Mirare), was critically acclaimed. His extensive discography with Mirare also consists of an album devoted to César Franck (CHOC Classica), as well as two integrals: the complete piano transcriptions by Wagner/Liszt and the complete Beethoven’s Bagatelles, both released to great critical acclaim (***** Classica and Diapason). With Harmonia Mundi, he has recorded with cellist Bruno Philippe, with mezzo-soprano Stéphanie d’Oustrac, as well as the album “Debussy: the late works” which received in 2019 the “BBC Muisc Magazine Award” as well as the “Gramophone Award”. The album “Proust: le concert retrouvé” with Théotime Langlois de Swarte gained a great critical success as well as the Gramophone Editor’s Choice in 2021. Tanguy was also part of a film devoted to Renée Fleming, filmed in the Théâtre du Châtelet, shown worldwide in IMAX cinemas in 2022.
After brilliant studies at Paris Conservatoire in piano (Roger Muraro), chamber music (Claire Désert), accompaniment (Jean-Frédéric Neuburger) and vocal coaching, he receives the support of both the Blüthner and Banque Populaire Foundations, as well as the ADAMI (Classical revelation 2016) znd the SPEDIDAM. In 2016, he is awarded the Jury and the Audience Prize at the Société des Arts de Genève, and the next year of the Play- Direct competition at the Philharmonie de Paris. At the same time, he works closely with Maria João Pires, Christoph Eschenbach, Stephen Kovacevich and Paul Badura-Skoda.
In 2025-2026, in addition to perform notably at the Philharmonie de Paris and at the Konzerthaud Dortmund, he collaborates with pianist Thomas Enhco, the mezzo-soprano Lea Desandre, the violinist Nahtan Mierdl… He is in concerto (play-direct) with the Orchestre des Pays de la Loire. He conducts Hamlet, a show by the ballet of the Opéra National du Rhin. He assists Pablo Heras-Casado at the Opéra national de Paris for Siegfried by Wagner.
Tanguy de Williencourt has been teaching piano at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique de Paris since 2021. He is artistic director of the Tempo festival Le Croisic.
